'51st Gamow Lecture', por Kip Thorne

La universidad de Colorado en Boulder celebra, desde 1971, una serie de conferencias en memoria del gran George Gamow, del que tanto he hablado en el blog.

Cuando Barbara, la mujer de Gamow, murió en diciembre de 1975, dejó en su testamento una donación a los regentes de la Universidad de Colorado con el propósito de mantener estas conferencias de ciencia gratuitas dirigidas al público general. La conferencia de 1978 y todas las conferencias posteriores han sido financiadas con este legado. 

Acabo de ver la que impartió en 2017 el Premio Nobel Kip Thorne y he quedado absolutamente maravillado. Resulta emocionante ver la influencia que tuvo Gamow en Kip cuando tenía 13 años y descubrió el libro Uno, dos, tres... infinito. O la anécdota con la versión en húngaro de este libro. :D
